"Dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts; to enhance and improve the quality of life for our citizens; and to assist with the advancement of the arts, culture, and educational programs for youth and the community at large."                             The Solano County Arts Council (SCAC) is the county's local arts partner to the California Arts Council (CAC).  We are the official granting agency to the Arts in Solano County, including arts funding to individuals, arts groups, associations, and organizations with arts programs. The Solano County Arts Council was formed in 1980 by appointment of the Solano County Board of Supervisors as a participant in the California Arts Council's State/Local Partnership Program. In 1983, the Solano County Arts Council was incorporated as a public benefit nonprofit corporation 501(c)(3). Working for and with other arts agencies, not in competition, SCAC is the "umbrella" arts agency for the county. In this capacity, we have re-granted as much as $40,000 in recent years to non-profit arts groups, individuals, organizations, and associations. We depend on contributions and donations to sustain our re-grant program and other county benefit programs. Your membership helps us to do this.
